A light and airy potting mix which allows for fast drainage and great aeration, helping to prevent root rot.

Perfect for sansevierias as is, and an ideal base for most houseplants- just add potting mix soil or your favourite fertilisers for any plants requiring nutrients as this mix does not contain any. Can also be mixed with coarse sand, bark and other mediums to create the perfect mix. Also ideal for starting off seedlings.

Coco Coir:

An organic, inert potting substrate made from the inner fibrous husk of the coconut. Coco coir is renowned for excellent drainage and its ability to hold nutrients and moisture, making it one of the most flexible products known to houseplant enthusiasts.

This particular brand is arguably the finest coir product currently available on the market. Growing in coco coir has become one of the most popular growing methods throughout the UK. Whilst feeling (and looking) very much like traditional peat based potting mixes, coco has significant differences that offer a wealth of advantages.

Aside from some very low level ‘background’ nutrients, for all intents and purposes coco is an inert substrate. This means you retain all control over the nutrient input as you would in a more typical hydroponic media like rockwool, but retain the benefits associated with it being an entirely natural product.

Growing with coco coir provides the ideal foundation for your plants to grow in. Having a much higher air content and higher water holding capacity than peat mixes, coir offers a much greater buffer on which your plants can thrive. Please note, Canna Coco Professional Plus contains no nutrients.

Perlite:

Perlite looks and feels like little bits of polystyrene but is actually made from superheated, expanded, volcanic glass. It’s sterile, lightweight, easy to handle and long-lasting. It’s neither alkaline nor acidic.

Perlite’s expanded nature means it is extremely porous, therefore absorbs water, but also improves drainage and aeration, providing a plants roots with the oxygen they need to grow and helping to prevent root rot. It is ideal to mix with other mediums to ensure water drains freely. Perlite is particularly useful in plant propagation for cuttings and also for sowing seeds.
